Christina’s Boudoir Experience

As soon as we met Christina over the phone for the first time, we knew she was in dire need of some pampering and self-love. In her own words, she “spent the last 20 years of her life doing cancer”. Being a caretaker for her parents, losing her beautiful son Caleb at age 26 to cancer, and going through two forms of cancer herself, Christina considered herself lost in the process. She felt as though she lost herself as a woman on top of struggling through the things all of us women face—being her own worst critic, putting herself last, and forgetting “her” in the chaos of life. She found herself asking—"if I feel lost as a woman, how can I bring myself to do boudoir?”
Luckily, she was brave enough to find out that boudoir was exactly what she needed.
The day of Christina’s boudoir session, she showed up with a bag of lingerie and all the bravery she could summon. Like most of our clients, this was completely new for her and WAY out of her comfort zone. Fortunately, the first part of sessions is one of the most fun—getting to sit back and be pampered with professional hair and makeup! While getting all dolled up, we had the pleasure of getting to know her better and understanding what level her nerves were at before jumping into shooting.
It was an honor to watch Christina open up throughout the guided shooting process. Going from shaking and covering herself with her robe at every opportunity, to flaunting her beauty and posing herself was a blessing that we strive for with every client. In her own words about her session, Christina says:
“You have no idea how freeing that was. I left the studio just overwhelmed by everything. It was like someone had made me superwoman and I gained this strength. I couldn’t be more excited about the entire process. And the intimacy that you give during your sessions is what really impressed me. That allowed me to let my guard down and bring out the person I lost so many years ago.”
Christina returned to the studio the week following her session for her photo viewing. Although she was so excited she could hardly wait, she felt almost as anxious to see her pictures as she was to take them. Watch below to see her reaction (SPOILER: She falls in LOVE)!
One of the best things about boudoir is that it is an investment into yourself that lasts a lifetime. It far surpasses just the photo shoot and photo reveal. The photos not only last forever, but the feeling they give you when you look at them never fades either. This is what Christina had to say after the entire process:
“I cannot thank you enough for the amazing gift that has been given to me from your company. For the first time in a VERY LONG TIME, I felt like a woman. I felt sensual. This gift that was given to me is greater than I could ever express in words. You gave me the gift of being a “Woman” again. I am overwhelmed by the beauty I saw in my pictures. I can’t stop looking at them. And when I see them, I realize “THAT’S ME!!!!!” Thank you will never be enough. And Jennifer, wow the talent that you have is beyond measure. Thank you for sharing your gift with the woman you gave back her confidence to … It’s big!!!!!! Its more than just photos, it gave me back what I lost so many years ago.”
